Post by sameerdhiman » 2014/12/10 10:39:34

Hi,

Please tell me how can I resolve below issues. Yum is working fine. Screenshots are attached.

1. System Tools > Kickstart Configurator > Package Selection | Always show "Package selection is disabled due to problem downloading package information.".
2. System Tools > Software | Category list always remain blank.

Don't multiple post.

If you are actually having the same problem as the OP of the last link, then your
fix will be the same as his.

Thanks gerald for the reply but the problem is intact. Software categories remains empty.

1. One machine at FallsChurch with direct Internet connectivity lists software in their respective categories. [Working Fine]
2. One machine at my home [India] with direct Internet connectivity DO NOT lists software in their respective categories. [Problem]
3. One virtual box machine at my work place [India] behind proxy DO NOT lists software in their respective categories. Proxy has been configured inside /etc/yum.conf as well as under network connection manager. [Problem]

Un-commenting baseurl and commenting mirror inside /etc/yum.repo.d/CentOS-Base.repo => No effects.
Creating local repo using file:/// and ftp:// => No effects.
Deleting everything under /var/cache/yum/x86_64 => No effects.

Now, I am out of ideas.

yum command works fine. updates working fine.
