Create local yum repository for different version

Post by goandy84 » 2014/10/14 18:44:01

hello,
I'm andrea and recently I looked into the world of centos.
my question to some may seem a stupid question.
Is possible to create a local yum repository for different systems and different versions Ex (v6-7 redhat, Fedora v 20-19)hat v6-7, Fedora v 20-19) ?

Yes. It may require different options for each version - so on el6 I build a repo for el5 clients but have to pass -s sha to createrepo to get the right checksums in the repodata.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.
