Not a real bigie, I can always just look at /var/log/boot.log and see what went past. Like you say, just a bit annoying.

I just did a yum update on 11/15/15 and it installed a bunch of stuff. After I noticed on booting that the grub details DO NOW scroll Yay. Further the BREAK key seems to do the pause. So some progress there.
