kppp account form hangs

2 Questions:
I am trialing CentOS v6.5 Final and the Account Form for kppp just hangs when I try to make the first new entry (the modem section seems to work fine).
#1 Does CentOS v7 have kppp and is this an issue in CentOS v7?
#2 If CentOS v6.5 has been final-IZED, is it save to assume that there are no more fixes/updates to CentOS v6.5 Final?
My guess is that I have to try moving up to CentOS v7, but I want to find out if kppp account form is working in CentOS v7 before downloading CentOS v7.
Please advise.

Since I use an unreliable dial-up connection I have to go to people whom I know to download larger files.
These three have the same problem (installed in vmWare vmWorkstation 5.5.9, I did NOT try to run them live):
CentOS-6.5-i386-bin-DVD1.iso, CentOS-6.5-i386-bin-DVD2.iso
CentOS-6.5-i386-LiveCD.iso
CentOS-6.5-i386-LiveDVD.iso
