There is no upgrade from 6.x to 7.x at the present time. There may be one later but for now, it's backup, reinstall, restore, just the same as it's always been.

No, Redhat have these packages and they are supported for server installs. CentOS have not yet got production ready versions of these packages so for the moment, there is no upgrade path. There may be in the future once they have been tested and made to work. Right now, there is no upgrade.
