Why always a delay when I do a search ?

Post by SirLurkalot » 2016/11/25 16:14:08

As per title.

Every time I visit here and do a search I get 'You must wait 40 seconds' or similar.
I've not experienced this anywhere else. Is it me or a genuine limit on access?

Because it's a "feature" of phpbb that can be used to abuse a site and create a denial of service. Hence, previous similar questions have been answered like viewtopic.php?f=40&t=58126
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Oh OK thanks.

As the other reply mentioned, 45 seconds is a bit irritating though, still I haven't had too many problems with Centos 7 :-)

The easiest solution is to use Google and append site:www.centos.org/forums to your search to limit it to just this site.
