https://ci.centos.org/ is down & Mirrors report incorrect checksum

Post by asimpson » 2023/03/16 02:00:53

Hi Centos,

It appears that https://ci.centos.org/ is either down or reporting an insecure SSL certificate. It also appears the package postgresql-docs-13.7-1.el9.x86_64.rpm in the official CentOS mirror and another that was tried has an incorrect checksum vs. the metadata.

Could someone please advise on either of the above?

https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/ci-u ... 04630.html makes it sound like it's due to die any day now anyway.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

I checked and apparently ci.centos.org is 2 CI systems old and already dead for some time. That was replaced by ocp.ci.centos.org and that is the one that is being turned off at the end of March. I presume that mailing list thread has details of where the latest one resides.

Well, it was deprecated a long time ago (and so removed from public DNS) and all people using it were aware of that.
Why do you think it should be up ?

It was listed here: https://wiki.centos.org/ReportBugs as the official way to report bugs/issues with mirror issues. Mostly I am after help verifying that package is safe, but it seemed the official channels were down. I couldn't spot anything in that mailing list - appreciate any help finding the correct spot to post mirror issue bugs.

The wiki page was updated to indicate ci.centos.org had been deprecated.
