Hello all,
I've been searching for away to have my CentOS4.7 box to successfully install windows XP. I currenlty have a pentuim 4 and a 320gb hd sata and about 2gbs of memory. I formated centOS to use about 200gb and I would like windows XP to use the remaining 120gb. I searched for ways to install windows on the centOS box but I am not having any luck. So far the only help I've found were people who have windows XP already installed and wanting to dual boot with centOS. Everytime I try to install windows the cd appears to load then goes to a blank screen and nothing happens. I've also seen forums where people have ubuntu and want to install windows I've tried following these steps but hit a brick wall because the instructions are geared for ubuntu and not centOS 4.7. Any assistance or direction with this matter will help greatly thanks.

Re: Installing windows XP on a centOS 4.7 and getting it to dual boot
As Gerald suggests, Windows is very picky about the disk configuration it will install on. Have you considered using virtualization instead of dual-boot? I like VirtualBox.
You should also consider updating to 4.8 if sticking with the CentOS 4 line.
P.S. Moved to CentOS 4 Miscellaneous as a more appropriate home than "Applications and Software Support"
