Hello,

Can anyone recommend a site (better if with eBook) that gives comprehensive tutorial on VI Editor for beginner-intermediate user? Also, is there a version of VI that would run on WinXP SP1? Thanks...

Actually, i found two sources
http://facultyfp.salisbury.edu/taanastasio/COSC350/Fall02/Goodies/vi_intro.html and
http://www.eng.hawaii.edu/Tutor/vi.html
but just want to have "second opinion" perhaps from advance VI editor user.

Anyway, thanks for the link you gave.

Advanced vi editor users are unlikely to know much about vi tutorials because being advanced vi editor users means they don't NEED tutorials, and haven't for a very long time.

At some point in their lives, gurus once took the path of the "newbies" thus they could better suggest which route is shorter or better.

Yes, but I doubt you will be able to find a copy of my 20 year old VI book, and I have not read any of the newer ones.

ok I got all your points. I guessed for now, what I need to do is to make most out of the sources (links) I got. Anyway, thanks for your replies.
