modprobe ksign errors after kernel rebuild

Post by arcadis » 2006/03/22 11:58:14

After rebuilding the CentOS 4.2 kernel with a minor tweak in the sata_svw driver I have a problem when loading modules into this kernel. modprobe gives a ksign error message telling me the module is signed with an unknown public key. It occurs with every module. The kernel loads its public key into the internal keyring as far as i can see in the boot output.

The modules and the kernel have been fully reinstalled from the new rpm, so my guess is it should work without a glitch. Does anyone know what causes this specific error message? Is there anything I should do before or after rebuilding the kernel to solve this little problem?
