Local mirror how to for only Centos 4 and Centos4 updates

Post by maxx » 2006/02/08 17:41:05

I would like to set up a mirror on my Intranet. However, I do not need or want any of the old stuff--only the most recent release and patches. I have not set something like this up before, and would appreciate some quick pointers or direction on how to do this. So the question--how do I mirror just the Centos4 and Centos4 updates portions of the CentOS mirrors?

Thanks.

The simplest way to get the CentOS content is to use rsync in combination with crond/crontab and mirror whatever portion of the CentOS tree you wish.

See “man rsync” and http://rsync.samba.org/

Many CentOS mirrors support rsync transfers.
