No /modules directory!?!?

Post by iansoundz » 2005/12/04 19:40:43

I am using CentOS 4.1

Does anyone know where the /modules directoy is?? I cannot find it anywhere. How is the kernel loading modules without it!? Any help is greatly appreciated.

What on earth is "/modules"? Some old oddity from the dark ages?

Kernel modules are loaded from /lib/modules/`uname -r` these days, for example from /lib/modules/2.6.9-11.EL in CentOS 4.1.
man modprobe
will tell you more. Modules are optionally configured in /etc/modprobe.conf
