when i install the NVIDIA*.run its say that not have a precompiled driver for my kernel , so is needed compiled one and needs kernel sourcecode , so i build the sourcecode rpm package and install it , then re-run the NVIDIA*.run and its say the same, so i use a argument to say to the install soft that my kernel sources are : /usr/src/linux*, allrigth. Done that, i thinks this time it will going to work, but no again a problem, it find my kernel sources but say me that : ERROR:
if yo have kernel 2.4 check that the sources was configured to your running kernel or that you have the corrects kernel headers.
if you hava kerne 2.4 check that the sources was configured to your running kernel.

-i have kernel 2.6.9-22.01.EL , and the sources of that kernel, so i cant understand the problem,
anybody can help me?

- is there another way "more simple" to install the last nvidia drivers?

thanks

bye

You don't need to have the kernel sources to compile the module for the NVIDIA drivers. You just need to make sure that you have all the includes from the kernel sources which come by installing the package: kernel-devel. With that in place you should have no trouble installing the NVIDIA drivers (works fine for me).

Worked flawless. Just ensure you boot to the kernel you have the dev for.
