PHP4 & PHP5 on same Web server.

Post by RAID-5 » 2007/06/20 04:42:49

Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to get working php4 and php5 on same server using rpm?

I know that's possible to get both by compiling by hand one as a module and other as cgi, but I would like to avoid compiling all the lamp stuff manually, it's a lot of work to do when upgrading a lot of servers.

Thanks for advice.

I'm not sure the binary you are installing supports it but you can relocate or redirect the files to a different path.

--prefix NEWPATH
For relocatable binary packages, translate all file paths that start with the installation prefix in the package relocation hint(s) to NEWPATH.
--relocate OLDPATH=NEWPATH
AddFor relocatable binary packages, translate all file paths that start with OLDPATH in the package relocation hint(s) to NEWPATH. This option can be used repeatedly if several OLDPATH's in the package are to be relocated.
