Squirrelmail php 5.1.6 and gettext

Post by jult » 2007/04/09 10:23:59

For some reason on my up to date CentOS 4.4 webservers the language locales for Squirrel don't show up. Squirrel always defaults to English. I've tried finding support for this at both squirrel and php, but they all point to CentOS for this.
gettext is enabled and I never had this before (using Fedora Core 3, 4 and php5).

Any idea why it is not working, and any others here that suffer from this problem?

OK, it's clear to me I should never have tried CentOS. Waste of valuable time. Fedora Core is not only more reliable nowadays, it's even better supported way past its lifetime cycle.

Here's my free advice for those who are trying CentOS:

Don't do it. Go with FreeBSD (via PC-BSD might even be better) or Fedora Core. You'll regret ever having tried CentOS.

Did it occur to you that no one answered your question because no one knows the answer?

There are about 20 members on this list that provide about 95% of the answers to serious questions. When you ask an obscure question, then there is a good chance that nobody knows the answer.

But when you become abusive, even members who know the answer will stop responding to your questions. If you follow through with pjwelsh’s suggestion, then that aspect can be fixed. We all know that everyone has a bad day occasionally.
