Problems running Tomcat with JDK 1.5

Post by webdevotion » 2007/02/06 22:42:48

Hello,

This is my first post and I'm a new user of CentOS.
My new virtual dedicated server runs centos 4.4.

So far I've installed JDK 1.5 and compiled the Tomcat bin file.

Everything was up and running, I could access mysite.com:8080
and got the default page. The examples where running etc ...

When I tried to shutdown my tomcat server:
$ sh CATALINA_HOME/bin/shutdown.sh
I got this error:
[root@as profile.d]# sh $CATALINA_HOME/bin/shutdown.sh
Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/tomcat
Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/local/tomcat
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/local/tomcat/temp
Using JRE_HOME: /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_11

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Can someone give me a clue where to look ?

Thanks!
