httpd will not start now

Post by texmansru47 » 2005/09/27 16:11:00

Everything was working great. Then I was to load PEAR to run a software for Management tracking, and now for some reason when I reboot the server I get the following error:

"httpd failed. The error was: Stopping httpd: [FAILED]
Starting httpd: [Tue Sep 27 10:37:58 2005] [warn] The Alias directive in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf at line 505 will probably never match because it overlaps an earlier AliasMatch.
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
[FAILED] "

Any ideas on how to fix this FUBAR?

Thanks,

Sounds like a syntax issue. Check the referenced line.

If you can't figure it out, post lines 500-510

how did you install php/pear? It sounds quite a bit like you've got duplicate entries in your config file. something at or around line 505 in httpd.conf matches something already parsed (possibly from a config in conf.d/)
