Firewall Settings

Post by bar7737 » 2007/08/25 18:48:33

I use CentOS on my personal computer and I use the 'Security Level' feature to close/open ports.

I now have another machine with CentOS 4 with commandline access only. I need to block all ports and only keep
a select few open. Could I just copy the iptables file from my desktop machine to this other machine? If not, what route should
I take?

Yes, you can do that of course ... or edit /etc/sysconfig/iptables directly .... or if you like system-config-securitylevel you can still use it in text mode ... it's up to you ...
