Maybe your repos are not properly configured or you are behind firewall that blocks yum

By the way is your sytem up to date?
Do you run yum as root?

here is my CentOS-Base repo file. Compare it with yours.

[code]
# CentOS-Base.repo
#
# This file uses a new mirrorlist system developed by Lance Davis for CentOS.
# The mirror system uses the connecting IP address of the client and the
# update status of each mirror to pick mirrors that are updated to and
# geographically close to the client. You should use this for CentOS updates
# unless you are manually picking other mirrors.
#
# If the mirrorlist= does not work for you, as a fall back you can try the
# remarked out baseurl= line instead.

Sir:

How would I do that(lame is it)? I am doing dual boot with the server itself.. now i am currently running winxp..I can install it in another pc in my network but in order for me to do that i would have to install I think VNC. for me to use it, since I dont have any spare kb, mouse for this one.. Or ssh ... is it easy to setup ssh in CentOS4? Or do I need to configure it again..

Am I irritating you? Hope not.. Thanks again.

In most cases to run ssh you need to enable the daemon(use setup in bash) and to open firewall port (22 by default)
