SELinux issue with VMWare and CentOS 4.2

Post by briankga » 2006/03/30 17:51:07

I hope someone can help me with - I posted on a VMWare Newsgroup and on a Linux-setup newsgroup and didn't get help either time.

I have CentOS 4.2 running as a guest on a WinXp host using VMWare Workstation 5.5. During boot and shutdown I see the
following messages on the console:

audit(1143131448.495:2): avc: denied { mount } for pid=2250
comm="vmware-guestd" name="/" dev=vmware-hgfs ino=0
scontext=user_u:system_r:initrc_t tcontext=system_u:object_r:unlabeled_t
tclass=filesystem
audit(1143131448.508:3): avc: denied { unmount } for pid=2250
comm="vmware-guestd" scontext=user_u:system_r:initrc_t
tcontext=system_u:object_r:unlabeled_t tclass=filesystem

Not sure but seems we saw it on VMWare Workstation 5.0 as well.

Does anyone know what causes this and or how to resolve.

thanks

Well - I guess third time is a charm - after 2 previous attempts and then this one I tried to google one more time with a couple different keywords and low and behold - 1 entry came back and I would say that its the answer:

www.vmware.com/community/message.jspa?messageID=274108

Just in case anyone else runs into this.
