squirrelmaill uses localdomain, some server reject my emails

Post by newbuntu » 2008/04/09 06:18:52

My squirrelmail works for the most part. When I send email, the header info indicates it originated from myhost.localdomain. That causes some server to reject my emails.

I searched around and saw myhosts.localdomain appears in etc/hosts like

127.0.0.1 myhost.localdomain myhost localhost.localdomain localhost

I suspect I have to change squirrelmail somwhere so it won't say it comes from localdomain. But I couldn't figure out how and where.

Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance.

Squirrelmail doesn't really send mail. It just hands it off to your system's MTA (usually sendmail or postfix) to send it. I would look at your configuration for whichever one of those you are running.
