services that won't start automatically

Post by sophwise » 2006/11/16 01:53:13

Does anyone know what the next step is to take when certain services won't start automatically at boot, even though they are configured to do so? My example at this point is Wildfire from jive software. It is installed and set to boot at startup and at the correct run levels, but it just doesn't do it, and there is no error in the log to say why.

I have even put an su entry in /etc/rc.local and it doesn't help

I can login as root and start it successfully, but no automation I can find, will get it working at startup by itself...

Hi sophwise

type " system-config-services " and check, if the service is listed and configured to start up at start
