Detecting NIC Dell Poweredge T105

Post by dsamsom » 2008/06/05 15:39:38

My nic isn't detected after a default installation of CentOS 4.4. I am running the single server install of Centos 4.4 - and the Network Configuration window is not available during the install? I have a Dell Poweredge T105 server.

Regards
Deb

That does not tell us what chipset the NIC uses.
Give us the relevant portion of
'lspci -v' .

4.4 is pretty old.
Is there a reason you did not load 4.6 or 5.1?
One of these might work with your NIC.

It's a Broadcom netextreme 5722 single port gigabit ethernet NIC. I picked CentOS 4.4 i386 because that was the only version that had single server CD.

lspci-v

Ethernet controller: Broadcam Corporation: Unknown device 165a
Sybsystem: Dell: Unknown device 0225

Looks like I may need drivers, although I don't know what I need, were to get them and how to install them.
