How to rename the wireless interface from 'eth0' to 'wlan0'

Post by omara007 » 2008/05/10 12:09:25

Hi folks

I have one Ethernet LAN card and one Wireless LAN card in my laptop. Ethernet was defined first to be 'eth0'. Once I managed to define the wireless card, it replaced the eth0 and become itself the eth0. Now the Ethernet LAN card become eth1 .. I want to rename the wireless interface from 'eth0' to 'wlan0' and return 'eth1' to its original name 'eth0'. How can I safely do that ?

Regards
