How to check processor and memory?

Hello my friends,

I would like to know if there is a way on linux Centos 4.8 to check if the processor is ok? any tool or any program to do it?

The problem is that my asterisk application is getting freez avery 2 days, and may be my processor or memory are not ok

Please let me know any advice

For memory, probably the most likely culprit, run memtest86+ at least overnight. 24 hours + is better.

For the processor, major reason for a problem there would be temperature problems. Could check with lmsensors or perhaps with a BIOS utility. Checking fans, heatsink seating, and thermal compound would be indicated if running hot. Marginal power supply voltage can be another source of intermittent errors.

Don't know of any. lm-sensors checks a lot of things including processor temp, but is more about the motherboard than processor.
