ML110 dual 36.4gig SCSI 15k drives "No Hardrives found"

Post by cspatter » 2005/10/25 16:53:06

I am installing Centos 4.2 on my brand new HP server and neither of the SCSI drives are showing up. HP is no help so I was wondering if anyone knew what pin settings i might need to use? These are my options::
ID0--ID1--ID2--ID3--WRITE PROT--START CMD--Narrow / Wide--DIFF SENS--N.C.--IDD Reset--LED--Term PWR EN--

:-?

You didn't provide us the exact model of your HP Proliant machine so i assume that it is the latest version of the ML110 : G3
Have you already build the driver disk for your SCSI controller ?
You can find this driver disk for your machine here : http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/1116_6154.html
Don't forget that this driver disk is for RHEL 4 only ! not RHEL update 2 !
So if you want to use this driver disk you must install CentOS 4.0 and not CentOS 4.2 ...
I assume you know how to use it : when you boot to your first centos 4.0 cd, type linux dd and provide the driver disk when asked ...
Hope this will work for you (one of my collegue will have to install CentOS also on this ML110 machine, but with SATA drives in mirror for a little heartbeat cluster for a Squid/Mailscanner solution ...)
