Laptop video

Post by bluegroper » 2005/09/09 22:17:14

I have an IBM Thinkpad with "S3 Graphics Savage/IX 1014" video controller.
Fresh install of CentOS 4.1.
Having problems with CentOS video. Stuck in 800x600 or below, and cannot use 1024 x 768.
Picture looks very crap.
Not a hardware problem because MSWindows video works just fine. 1024 x 768.
Also have an old Redhat 7.3 installation on another hdd that is perfect in 1024 x 768.
Both of these are nice 'n crisp.
Where do I look to make CentOS work as well as the other OS's ?
There must be some config settings, or some missing driver/s that I can tweak.
Much thanks for any clues.
