Hello Everybody:
I have installed CentOS 4.5 on x86 machine. It has one cdrom drive. After installing, I wanted to see if it can play songs or not. But it fails. Error was, "not able to mount /dev/hdc". I tried to mount it but it fails. Anyone please share their knoledge about how to mount cdrom and play song on CentOS.
Also, this I can only do as root, I want to do as some other user too. How should I do that ?

You don't mount a CD to play songs ( unless they are mp3 ).
You use a media player program.

There are many different media players. If you use gnome try Rhythmbox:
