serial comm ports for x64

Post by Roy-Solar » 2011/02/23 08:07:46

I have a sunix 2 serial port pci board and Centos5.5x64 and the available driver is for 2.4 and 2.6 kernel 32 bit Linux.
Is there a way to use this driver OR is there a generic driver for the 16450 uart ??

Welcome to the CentOS fora.

Is the card physically installed in the system?

If yes, what does a selective grep of dmesg tell you? And do you see a reference to the card in the output of /sbin/lspci -m & /sbin/lspci -n?

Please post the URL to the driver, so that I may take a look at it.

That's a pretty obsolete UART but the standard kernel driver should support it.
