Apache and Ftp

Post by anand999 » 2011/02/15 11:27:09

I have a domain name www.mydomain.com and when i type it in the firefox it currently points to my server and shows me the page where it says.

"This page is used to test the proper operation of the Apache HTTP server after it has been installed. If you can read this page it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at this site is working properly."

Now I have created a user by the name of "deepti" and that I want that when I click on my domain name www.mydomain.com it should open a page from

/home/deepti/public_html/ (www)

I have already created a username deepti and assigned a password to it. By doing below commands.

useradd anand

I have also :
Apache is installed as root.
Vsftpd is installed as root.

Kindly advise me what to do next. Any help will be highly appreciated.

I see you have to change the directory that points the domain to:

First read some Apache configuration and more on Google (type "apache domain configuration" )
Everything will make you understand that it's not FTP fault, but Apache configuration need's to be properly done.
