Apache - switching SSLEngine On

Post by MajorNewbie » 2008/12/01 17:27:21

I use Redhat 5.2 and Apache 2.2.3

Recently, I bought and installed a GoDaddy certificate, which is popular here.

Then I went in and modified Apache as advised to pull in the standard SSL.conf, like this:

Include conf.d/*conf

Then I modified SSL.conf, like this:

...
ServerName www.mysite.com:443
...
SSLEngine on
SSLCertificateFile /mysite.com.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /mysite.com.key

I tested it and my shopping cart is not using https when I am checking out.

What have I done wrong?

What does it mean "does not use https"? May be it needs to be configured to? Have you tried to open your website using
https://www.mysite.com ?

Thanks, it turned out my server installation was correct, it was some settings in the actual Coldfusion application using it which need to be set.
