php 5.2.6 problem with postgresql connection.

Post by janusz » 2008/10/13 06:20:16

HI,

I have problem to solve:

Server A postgresql database

Server B php apache mysql

I want to import data from server A to B but i cannot connect from php level. I have installed php-pgsql 5.2.6, add extension in php.ini extension=pgsql.so but still no luck. From console from server B i can simply connect to database on server B so it seems to be php conf problem. Did i forget about something?

Regards,

Janusz

This post is a little old now but as it is still unanswered I'll have a go ...

Things to check:

1. is php-pgsql RPM installed?
2. is a firewall blocking things?
3. is selinux blocking things?
4. is postgresql configured to accept the connection (see /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_hba.conf)

php 5.2.6 does not default with the mysql or postgresql communication enabled,

run a phpinfo();

grab the configure command (put it in notepad) and change the appropriate --without-... to --with-..

not navigate your server to the php install dir and make (you will need to backup httpd and stop apache for the remake and start after)
