Second Drive issue

Post by ChildOTK » 2008/08/21 19:07:58

Hi all,

I have a new CentOS 5.2 webserver which I have 2 x 146GB (RAID1 - /dev/sda) drives for the OS, and 3 x 300GB (RAID5 - /dev/sdb)

I am running the Plesk Control Panel, but am having some issues.

I would like to mount the /dev/sdb1 partition to my /home/httpd/vhosts/ folder, so that all my web content for my domains gets stored on the RAID5 array.

For some reason, and this is my problem, it seems there are some permissions not being setup correctly while mounting /dev/sdb1.

When I move the default files for plesk to the /home/httpd/vhosts folder, and attempt to restart httpd, I get an error saying:

Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 8 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/zz010_psa_httpd.conf:
DocumentRoot must be a directory
[FAILED]

I can manually navigate the folder specified which is /home/httpd/vhosts/default/htdocs and it works, I can manually places files there and everything, but httpd doesnt see it, at all, and I do not know why.

Also when I add a domain in plesk, and the new domain under the /home/httpd/vhosts/domain.com gets created, but when httpd restarts, it then gets a permision denied error while trying to load the domains own httpd.include configu file.

Does anybody have any idea why this is happening?

I have reformatted the partition for my /home/httpd/vhosts directory, but the exact same problem occurs.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

Thank you
ChildOTK

You would want to use the -p flag to preserve any perms/ownership.

Also you may use tar to preserve everything when you copy over.
