Gui MySQL server?

Post by jhyland87 » 2008/04/02 01:01:13

Hey guys, so im starting up a website, and I NEED mysql on my server. first let me say... I like centos a lot! Im glad I picked it as a server.

ok so, the server is home kept for now, and thus, id like to use a GUI mysql server, I dont know how to use sql via the terminal yet, I could learn, but for now id rather get my sites up and going.

I like MySQL YOG alot, but Im not going to download wine to use it, I just dont think I should need wine to run it, plus I dont want wine or any other un needed programs on my server..

My question is... what is the best free guy mysql server in your opinion?

any opinions are appriceated, thanks!

Hi,
you may download the gui tools mysql provides at mysql.com, while the query tool tends to crash the admin tool works pretty fine. You may also try phpMyAdmin.

Just to be clear, there is no GUI MySQL server. The server has no user interface at all.
What you want is a GUI client. The client provides the user interface.

Use scp. It is more secure, and more versatile.

I think id rather stick with ftp. for as many file movements as im doing, this looks like it would take too long, thanks..

so.. does anyone know how to edit permissions of ftp users?
