Folder permission with Samba (help)

Post by its_my_style » 2012/12/15 07:48:07

Hi.

I need to verify some couple of issue regards File Sharing Permission with samba

As recently I have joined Cent OS 5.3 with Windows Domain Environment.

My security is = ADS

folder permission - drwxrwxrwx 14 root root 4096 Dec 15 12:51 media

So my Case is

Make Folder Called Media
Domain Name = ABC
Active Directory users are Media01 & Media 2
Share by using smb.conf file Like bellow

[Media]

Comment = MY MEDIA SHARING

path = /Media

Public = no

Writable = yes

Valid Users = abc\media01

Read list = abc\media02

My requirement is

Media01 User should be have Full Access of this Folder

Media02 Use just need read only right for same folder /media

But Seem Shared Folder doesn?t have access for above both users

Please advice

Do you add media01 and media02 user on local system? Try to do that and add in smbusers with same password as local user.
