Please do not run 5.2! It is seriously old and out of date and full of security bugs. Run `yum update` ASAP and get to 5.10 which is the current supported release.

You can find wine in the EPEL repository. Additional packages are often in 3rd party repos. Information on additional CentOS repos is available at http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories Pay attention to the reference on yum-priorities.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.

I have updated my system 2 Centos 5.10
now plz tell how do i install wine using yum

Look at the link I posted before. It has details on lots of third party repos. You need to install EPEL (epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm for CentOS 6) and then yum will find wine.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

i have successfully installed wine 1.7.11
but when i try 2 open any windows file ,it crashes and i have to force quit the program
e.g i tried vlc, norton,firefox,geogebra,tercopy,etc.
but the installation page appears but then i am not able to install any windows app>>>>>>>
what should i do????????????????/

Epel has 1.6.1 not 1.7.1
I don't know where you got that version, but you might ask them for support.

does it work fine with centos 5.10??????

Take the process you used to install it, and reverse it.

Epel has wine. viewforum.php?f=18
Read the article on installing software.
