Need Knetworkmanager

Post by hambone79 » 2007/06/06 12:01:00

I just recently moved from Fedora Core 6 to CentoS 5 because I was told that it would run Pro/Engineer better. It does run Pro/E better, but I'm starting to miss having a few of the apps that I had in Fedora Core 6. The number one app on my list right now is Knetworkmanager. I used to be able to just click the Knetworkmanager icon in the corner of the screen and choose my wireless or wired network very easily.

I have added several of the 3rd party yum repos, but it doesn't look like anyone has Knetworkmanager at the moment. I have also tried to compile knetworkmanager from source, but have given up on this because it keeps failing. Does anyone know where I can get Knetworkmanager for CentOS?

hi hambone,
I'm a relatively new user finding my own way with linux at the moment- and I read elsewhere and my own experience also seems to show that rpms for Fedora6 work with Centos5. Read this link about the yum plugin priorities first [http://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities?highlight=%28yum%29] an then install the knetwork-rpm for the Fedora6 ditrobution from (for example) here: [http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=NetworkManager].
Hope this helps!
