Hi all
I moved a large directory with many sub-directories to a shared folder on a Centos5 box (moving our ftp server to linux from windows) and now need to change the owner on all of these directories. Is there a way to do this easily without having to change it on each and every folder? Using the GUI properties window gives a button to "apply to all files in this folder" but it does exactly what it says, applies the change only to the files in the folder, not the directories.
Any suggestions are welcome!

Re: changing owner on multiple directories at once?
thanks for the response, I looked at the man for chown, then chgrp and it gave me an idea how to do what i wanted a little easier...I added the users I wanted to the group of the current owner as that group had all the permissions i wanted the main users to have....:-)

-R option will do it recursively if that's what you need.
