VMware Clone Network Config

Post by natediggs » 2013/11/18 19:06:14

Hi Everyone,

We're currently trying to get a cloned CentOS 6 box to connect to our virtual network in VMware and are having a hard time.

We cloned the box and then removed Eth0 and added a new Eth0 with a new MAC address. We then followed the procedure in this thread:
http://superuser.com/questions/332593/h ... s-6-redhat

Which means that we deleted /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules and then edited /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and changed the MAC address to the new MAC address. I then rebooted the server. We can ping loopback but we can't ping the gateway.

Any help would be great.

What do you get when running 'ifconfig -a'?
