download files via console

Post by deangero » 2021/06/03 06:22:45

Hello

My centos 6 server crashed while cleaning old backups. 47 websites run on this. The server is currently only accessible from the console.
My question is: can I download the backups made with directadmin via the console. So that I can set up the server again and then put it back?

You'd have to ask directadmin that question since we do not support any control panels here.

Also, if you have to reinstall, please please do not use CentOS 6.. It is dead and will receive no more updates so is increasingly dangerous to run. It went EOL in November 2020 so already has more than 6 months of unfixed security problems, at least one of which already allows anyone with access to the server to become root.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

The problem is that I can't get to directadmin anymore. I would like to download the backup files via the console.

The problem is that no-one here will run directadmin so we have no idea how they create their backups. You will have to ask them how to do that.
