files are not copying from centos to windows through RDP

Post by gunasekaran496 » 2020/02/18 15:26:15

Am connecting windows from CentOS through RDP session. I can copy and paste text and image but unable to copy the files.

I have added cliprdr plugin in the freerdp script as below, but unable to copy the files.

-- --plugin cliprdr-- --

If anyone had this issue, please help me to fix this issue. I had installed required rpm packages also, but still same issue.

On CentOS 6?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Well first of all, that's way way out of date. The current version is 6.10 and 6.6 dates from 2014 which means you are missing close on 6 years worth of fixes, both high severity security and a whole raft of enhancements. You also need to know that CentOS 6 goes completely End of Life in November 2020 so you need to be thinking about migrating to a newer supported version sooner rather than later. Red Hat have only been producing patches for security vulnerabilities in CentOS 6 that are marked as "Critical" and some that are "Important" for about the last 2 years so you already have a system that isn't as secure as it might be even if you update to the latest. Without updating your system is most likely trivial to compromise.

The freerdp packages in CentOS 6 are ancient and stuck on version 1.0.2. In CentOS 7 and CentOS 8 they are 2.0.0 and they are significantly better. For CentOS 7 you can also find a package called remmina in the EPEL repo and that is very good for RDP (and other things).
