Missing gdm binaries on Centos 6

Post by tomerA » 2011/09/22 13:28:42

Hello,

I cannot find the following legacey gdm binaries on Centos 6:
gdm-stop,gdm-restart,gdm-safe-restart,gdmsetup..

I understand that gdm was completly re-written (http://bheekly.blogspot.com/2008/10/gdm-224-aka-smb-shoot-me-bloody.html).
I can see that those binaries are included on the same GDM that Fedora 13 (http://pkgs.org/fedora-13/fedora-i386/gdm-2.30.2-1.fc13.i686.rpm.html) uses..

Can someone explains how can I starts\stops GDM on Centos 6?
I used to have a working init script (attached) on Centos 5 that start\stop\restart gdm using those commands, but now I cannot use it..

GDM version: gdm-2.30.4-21.el6_0.1.x86_64

How about "telinit 3" to stop, "telinit 5" to start, "telinit 3 ; telinit 5" to restart?
