I'm running VMWare Fusion 3 and just installed Centos6 from the DVD iso using VMWare's automatic settings.
When I try to use SW update (or yum update from command line as root) I get the following:
Test Transaction Errors: installing package kernel-2.6.32-71.29.1.el6.x86_64 needs 24MB on the /boot filesystem
What gives? How do I fix it? Looking at the /boot partition it seems large enough so there must be some kind of permission issue.
VMWare Fusion YUM update issue
Re: VMWare Fusion YUM update issue
I don't know if this applies to VMware Fusion but, in the case of VMware Workstatin, the default installation does not create a big enough /boot partition. It is so small that even the second kernel cannot fit in there. I posted the issue on their community forum.
Re: VMWare Fusion YUM update issue

This is not useful advice for the original poster. He's using VMware Fusion, which means his host is running Mac OS X. Workstation is only for Linux and Windows hosts.
I don't know if VMware Fusion 4 would work correctly or not.
