update from centos 6.1 to 7*

Post by v.mazurenko » 2021/02/10 19:27:52

Hi everyone! I have been trying to update centos from 6.1 to 7 using that guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr4qoNCtiyY.
After reboot got error fsck: error 2 (No such file or directory) while executing fsck.ext2 system does not response after this message.

Preupdate logs look like:

No because there is NO upgrade process from CentOS 6 to 7.

It's not supported and will 99.9% likely KILL your system.

The correct "upgrade" procedure is to install a parallel system and migrate your services and apps and data to it.
CentOS 6 died in November 2020 - migrate to a new version!

CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.
