OpenJDK Runtime Environment Install
OpenJDK Runtime Environment Install
I have have installed CentOS 6 again to used a website server and OS, however I am constantly getting software updates that seem to just go no where and just keeps download and installing the same update this being OpenJDK Runtime Environment: java-1.7.0-openjdk-1:1.7.0.231-2.6.19.2.el6_10(x86_64) 26.6 MB in size. Before anyone asks why I am using CentOS 6, I find this OS the best to use as the others have issues installing Teamviwer for remote access. Cheers for your help and advise.
Re: OpenJDK Runtime Environment Install
Be aware that CentOS 6 is approaching end of life and in approximately 1 year there will be no more security updates for it at all. I'm pretty sure that 5 years after the release of CentOS 7, teamviewer really ought to work by now!
I'd recommend opening a command prompt, using sudo or su to be root and then run either yum update java-1.7.0-openjdk or yum install java-1.7.0-openjdk depending on whether or not it's currently installed. If that errors then post the entire output from the yum command all the way through from the command prompt you entered the command at, all the way through until it returns afterwards.

The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: OpenJDK Runtime Environment Install
We don't support teamviewer so you will need to ask them. Also, this is the CentOS 6 forum but you're asking questions about 8?

Re: OpenJDK Runtime Environment Install
Well yes as You your self suggested CentOS 8. Dont worry about it, it seem this forum has not changed at all. I will will install windows server once again... You really need to change your ways and attitude in this forum group
Re: OpenJDK Runtime Environment Install
You expect volunteers to give you advice on how to install a proprietary, closed-source software tool? Maybe you should be looking in the mirror when suggesting someone changes their attitude.

Also, if you are installing a GUI-based tool on a webserver, you are doing it wrong. Just use SSH to connect and configure it.
