Connect to Tigervnc server on Centos from Tightvnc on windows but desktop never shows up.

Post by echothunder » 2018/07/28 21:27:10

I configured tigervnc on CentOS6, opened up the port in IPtables and was able to connect and see the desktop earlier today. I restarted the CentOS machine to make sure my configuration saved and now I cannot connect.

It does not appear to be network related as I am prompted to log in when I connect from a remote Windows machine with tightvnc. After I enter my password the desktop is never displayed and nothing shows up on the remote machine.

Tailing the logs on the server shows the following once I am prompted to log in. After I enter creds and hit enter nothing is written to the log.

What else should I be checking?

Code: Select all

(null): Warning no default label for /home/crappa/.gvfs

In CentOS, did you enable the desktop sharing for that user? I don't remember where in the menus it is in C6.
