I had a good laugh today - more interviews by RedHat managers on how "amateurish" and "hobbyist" CentOS is. Well and of course on how RedHat streamlines and helps all of us poor people to get a proper and stable OS.
Yeah, thanks to RedHat, that time has come:

One script to bind them all, maybe already this week.
Almalinux, most likely the new CentOS - one script to bind them all and you are in: 100% RHEL-binary-compatible, community-driven, free and 100% community-controlled, while still being sponsored and well-fed to maintain this intial impact.

I haven't seen any articles referring to CentOS as amateurish, and would appreciate pointers to those articles, as that is completely inappropriate for anyone from Red Hat to be saying.

Nothing easier than that:
- Interview with Exelbierd: https://www.theregister.com/2021/01/26/killing_centos/
- Blog post by Scott McCarty: http://crunchtools.com/before-you-get-m ... ink-about/ - read the comments, esspecially the part where he calls people "crazy" to use CentOS in production

PS - extracted some "special" quotes from Exelbierd and McCarty:
- Exelbierd: "One of the things that this change has done is it's made it pretty clear RHEL is for production,"
- Exelbierd - developer program: "but there is going to be a use case here for hobbyists, system administrators and others who don't self-identify as developers."
- McCarty: "IMHO, running “production workloads” – aka workloads that either make money or save your company money – on CentOS was crazy. That hasn’t changed one way or another."

Hello AlmaLinux,
we actually had a smooth start, even though you are (almost) a virgin. About 10 weeks old and you work like a 30 year old star. Nice to have ya here:

(Depending on how you do, it needs some tweaks, but hey, its beta...)
Take a ride too - have fun.
