Memory usage - Google Chrome vs. Mozilla Firefox

I have used Chrome for a while. I took a look, and it uses about 250MB of memory. But Firefox used only 150MB, so I migrated to the latest version of Firefox. Now I find there are two other processes called "Web Content" and these use about 120MB together, and I read they belong to Firefox. Now it l...

Re: Play MIDI in Totem/Videos with gstreamer - fluidsynth is missing

Still can't find fluidsynth, so I get by with Timidity++ to play MIDI files.

Re: Can't start DevedeNG due to missing Python3 module

I found a package for CentOS 7 here, that works: https://centos.pkgs.org/7/nux-dextop-x86_64/devede-3.23.0-3.el7.nux.noarch.rpm.html But it is version 3.23, and the latest version out is 4.8.11. But I can use it, so I will wait for CentOS 8 to come with the updates. I tried with compiling the newest...

Re: Can't start DevedeNG due to missing Python3 module

I reinstalled the whole Python 3, and I installed the module "gi" (gobject introspection) via the "pip" application. Well, I filed a message to the maintainer of Devede, and he says there is a bug with the "gi" module. That's why the application will not start. The maintainer of Devede said I should...

Can't start DevedeNG due to missing Python3 module

I'm trying the DVD-program DevedeNG and I get this error: # python3 /usr/bin/devede_ng.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/devede_ng.py", line 20, in <module> import gi ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'gi' I don't know what module it wants, I have looked around and installed pa...

Re: Play MIDI in Totem/Videos with gstreamer - fluidsynth is missing

I saw this as a bug in Fedora 20, but I think this should be fixed that the fluidsynth is now included in gstreamer-plugins-bad but maybe this is not updated on CentOS 7.

Play MIDI in Totem/Videos with gstreamer - fluidsynth is missing

Seems like I need "fluidsynth" plugin with gstreamer to play MIDI files in Totem/Videos. But I have gstreamer-plugins-bad package installed and latest version, but fluidsynth doesn't seem to be included. Totem says "the following plugins is required: audio/x-midi-event decoder". Any tips on how to a...

Re: D-Link DWM-221 4G USB modem on CentOS

I got the USB modem to work with the Sakis3g script package which is found on GitHub. Now Internet works with this modem.
