Re: Iptable VS Centos 6.4

Trevor, why do you think that just because they are on the same subnet that this will not work? If one of the hosts is configured to be the gateway/router for this subnet then things should work as configured. I'm thinking it has to do more with the fact that he's running virtual guests using bridge...

Re: Bind VNC Server Only to Specific IP/Adapter *OR* QOS?

Sounds like you may have to investigate configuring QOS. Unfortunately, I don't have any expertise in this area, maybe someone else can jump in and assist you.

Core dump not created on segfault

Thanks for the information, I learned something from it :-) and remember... it's not that people are ignoring your question, sometimes we just don't know the answer :-/

'Oops! Google Chrome could not connect'...how can I get my w

I agree with the above... it sounds like apache is not configured to start on boot.

as root, run the below...

chkconfig --list httpd

see if it's on for runlevels 2,3,4,5 if not then do a 'chkconfig httpd on' followed by a 'service httpd start'

Re: Iptable VS Centos 6.4

Unless I'm missing something, the above iptables rules should achieve your masquerading objective. Since you rebuilt the VM, did you re-enable ip forwarding again? Is this VM on the same network as your other machines? Are you using bridged mode in the VM? Maybe you can provide more details. Other t...

Bind VNC Server Only to Specific IP/Adapter *OR* QOS?

Instead of going down the route of another interface, I think you could try something as simple as using the nice/renice commands and change the priority of your vnc process. example: renice value pid So, if your vnc pid was 2369 you could type this... renice -5 2369 You have to do this as root to s...

Re: Iptable VS Centos 6.4

Hmmm... from a bare minimum perspective the above I provided you should work. Can you confirm that ip forwarding is enabled. I know that you had echoed it in above, but can you please add it to the /etc/sysctl.conf file and reload it and then try again. net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 write and save the fil...

Re: Iptable VS Centos 6.4

Lets start from scratch since you don't have a heavily modified iptables file. As root... 1) iptables -F 2) service iptables stop 3) backup and then delete the existing /etc/sysconfig/iptables file. 4) iptables -A INPUT -m state --state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT 5) iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING...

Iptable VS Centos 6.4

The above should work assuming you had the correct spaces etc, in this line and the ip forwarding turned on.

iptables-t nat-A POSTROUTING-o eth0-j MASQUERADE-

Can you post your current configuration with 'service iptables status'
