What is your video card hardware?


I am running Scientific Linux 6 in production, it boots 10 times faster and I really like it.

Now I will have CentOS as well!

I would go with the 64-bit version, you can work around a lot of the issues with flash and so on.


I can find the links and post on the config's for flash ect....

[SOLVED] CentOS 5.6 (64-bit) EPEL repo with phpmyadmin

I have a new CentOS 5.6 (64-bit) server, what repo do I need to install is it the EPEL in order to do the following:

yum install phpmyadmin?

Any help/assistance would be great.

I am not sure if you have heard of ksplice but basically you can update the kernel without having to reboot. So basically you could have 100% uptime from a server standpoint. As the other comment was the 'service(s)' you are providing access to is what is critical so the box could be up for 5 years ...

As others have noted, save the original iptables rules, I change the name inside the rules from RH-Firewall-1-INPUT to something like fw-in (easier to mange) and then I create another list like 'hacklist' to put rogue IP ranges in and/or malicious IP ranges of people who will not go away (hack/spam/...
